One of the indicators of economic development is the human development component. Human development plays an important role in the development of any society. There are huge differences between the human development index at developing countries, especially Islamic countries. Reducing the gap in the human development index among countries requires identifying the factors affecting human development. Since one of the factors affecting human development is exchange rate fluctuations, in this study, the impact of real effective exchange rate uncertainty on the human development index has been evaluated using panel data during the period 2009- 2023 in selected member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The Real Effective Exchange Rate Uncertainty is gained from Hedrick-Prescott and The Human Development Index is gained from average of three indexes which include: Life Expectancy Index (LEI), Educational Attainments Index (EAI), and Per capita income has become Purchasing power parity (PPP). Results show that with the increase in Real Effective Exchange Rate Uncertainty, the Human Development Index reduced in selected countries. Therefore, the central banks of these countries need to refrain from actions that cause fluctuations in the currency market. As well as results of the model estimate show that Government Expenditures and the Degree of Macroeconomic Openness variables have a significant and positive impact and also the Foreign Direct Investment variable has a significant and negative impact on Human Development in Selected countries.
